Even though New Orleans has been through a lot, the spirit of New Orleans has been anything but broken. The reason I know this from first-hand experience is I just went to New Orleans to celebrate Mardi Gras, and it was an absolutely wild experience.

If you have never attended a Mardi Gras celebration in New Orleans, it’s honestly hard to comprehend just how wild and fun it is down there. I’m not trying to say this in a condescending way. In fact, although this was my first year to experience Mardi Gras in New Orleans, several of my friends had been there during other years, and although they had told me all about their trips, I couldn’t fully understand the level of craziness they were trying to explain until I got to experience it for myself.

With that being said, if you haven’t gotten to experience it yet, I highly recommend that you make arrangements to attend the Mardi Gras celebration in New Orleans in 2010. You obviously have plenty of time to get all of your arrangements made (since it is almost a full year away), so start saving a little money and you will be good to go when March of next year comes around!
