In the beginning of this past June, I took a trip down to New Orleans to meet my boyfriends family for the first time and I had one of the best trips that I have ever had in my entire life. Not only was his family a really nice bunch of folks but I don’t think I have had as much fun in the last decade as I had during our week long trip to one of the best cities in the United States!

Since my boyfriend had grown up in New Orleans there were about a million different places that we just had to see during our trip and in order to get around we really needed to rent a car. I have had some pretty bad experiences renting a car before so I just let my boyfriend handle it and we ended up getting one of the best deals on a rental car I have ever gotten! The place that we went with was called Nifty Car Rental, and they really treated us great when we went in there. We were in and out in less than 15 minutes and got a cute little 2009 Toyota Camry for much less than I would have expected. Luckily for us our auto insurance actually covers rental cars so that alone saved us over a hundred bucks and we were still covered even if something happened to the car.

With our own mode of transportation we got to see almost everything that my boyfriend wanted to show me. I don’t know what the trip would have been like if we had to rely on public transportation and cabs. It definitely wouldn’t have been half as fun so if you are going to take a trip down to New Orleans, you have got to rent a car! You’ll be so glad you did!
